Redpill or bluepill?

It is ironic that electionographers chose to depict Democratic-dominant areas as blue and Republican as red, and that this coloring matches the choice in The Matrix between taking a bluepill that will continue the delusion and the redpill that offers traumatic reality. That movie provides a good metaphor for our present political divide between those who imagine, despite all the evidence, that their overconsumption, especially of government benefits, can continue with at most minor reductions, and those who have come to recognize the delusion for what it is.

The problem is that too many of the American people have chosen the redpill, and they vote. Even those in positions of leadership who have taken the bluepill are not prepared to defy those people and make them take the redpill. It appears that nothing less than economic meltdown will wake them up, and that may bring the end of modern civilization.

Children are still in the drivers seat and the adults are as yet unable to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.

There is a libertarian revolution that is growing as the debacle approaches, but it may already be too late to keep us from going over the cliff. We may be having to build a foundation for the aftermath, because we are too close to the edge now.

Hi Jon. I concur as the steering wheel being grasped by Washington is not connected to a steering column. Successful corrective action will require unprecedented coordination... more importantly sound direction. Hopefully, the answer lies in the information age where the truth rises ever faster.
